What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self getting into sports?

  • My 20-year-old self didn’t even know sports was a possibility, so I’d probably encourage him that the right opportunities are out there, and be willing to take some chances in order to get there.

Why do you work in the sports industry?

  • The simple reason is that I realized after a couple of years working in IT, that I needed to have a passion for where I worked, to be happy with the career I was in. Realizing sports would meet that need, I went back to business school with a focus on getting into the sports industry, and lucky for me, it was fortunate timing to have the data and technology background I had with the emergence of CRM and analytics in the sports business.

What has been your most memorable moment working in the Sports and Entertainment industry?

  • Not one specific moment per se, but in my previous role at KORE, I got to travel around the world working with clubs across the US, Europe, and Australia. Growing up, I never expected to have that type of opportunity. Besides that, I still love being at the stadium every Sunday for home games.

What do you look for in potential candidates?

  • Because of the technical nature of what our department does, I do look for hard skills that we need, but in addition to that, I also focus on how a candidate explains the application of those skills in a way that’s clear and insightful. Analytics without the ability to communicate doesn’t generate results.

When you decided to start with your current organization, what were some factors that weighed into your decision?

  • I knew I wanted to work on the team-side again, and this position with Giants literally checked every box – the right role, the right location, the right organizational culture, the right teammates – I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity.
